  • Volunteer Curatorial Assistant Required

Mitchell Arts Centre is looking for a Volunteer Curatorial Assistant to help shape and deliver a new community focused visual arts programme.

Since its re-launch in 2007, the arts centre is now looking to support local and community focused artists, groups and public participants in showcasing their work. We are looking for a self-starter, who has some experience in exhibition planning, exhibition interpretation, and installation / de-installation.

Critically the person must be a great communicator and be able to assist groups in preparing a professional standard of exhibition with a limited budget.

The role would involve researching potential partnerships and local artists, schedule planning, exhibition design, health and safety, press and marketing, as well as assisting the technician during changeover. An interest or experience in digital or sci-arts would be of particular interest but not essential.

To apply, please send us your CV and a cover letter to CEO Zoe Papiernik at or mail it to the address provided. Successful applications would be called to attend an interview. The cover letter should state why you think you would be the right person for the role based on the points above. Please also provide details for two people (not any relation to you) who would be able to give a reference.

    Application Deadline 18 May 2015
