Welcome to the Mitchell Arts Centre, the only dedicated children’s theatre in Stoke on Trent, where we proudly continue our mission as a youth-focused venue. We strive to be a creative space where young people can explore their potential through initiatives like our Youth Board with St. Margaret Ward Catholic College, our “BBC Bring the Drama” work experience placements, and MAC Half Term Workshops. Our partnerships, including those with The Hubb Foundation and the National Lottery, make theatre and arts accessible to children from all backgrounds, from those on the free school meal programme to those with limited mobility. We also celebrate nature through our heritage projects with Chris Parr, offering unique environmental workshops. As a theatre, we are committed to nurturing the next generation, and while we are proud of what we have achieved, we are always looking to be more ambitious and bold in shaping the future of our children’s theatre. Our focus is to foster self-expression and building confidence in children though accessible arts.

At our organisation, we’re lucky to work with some amazing partners who help us bring creativity and fun learning experiences to kids just like you! We team up with Keele University and the University of Staffordshire to add cool new ideas to our programs. With Partners in Creative Learning and Pinc College, we make learning exciting and full of art and imagination. Flatpack Film helps us show awesome movies, while Able Stoke gets everyone moving and active. We also care about making sure everyone can join in, which is why we work with Sight Loss and Deaflinks to support kids who are blind or deaf. The North Staffs Pensioners Convention teaches us important lessons from older generations, and St. Margaret Ward School is a great friend that shares in our learning adventures. The Hubb Foundation helps us reach even more kids, and with BBC Bring the Drama, we get to act, play, and perform in a big way. Together, we make learning fun for everyone!

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters. Your funding has made every project possible. Without your help, we wouldn't be able to make such a positive impact in our community.
