    Cinderella

    17th-31st December, various times

    A brand new professional pantomime, Cinderella, will be playing at the Mitchell Arts Centre (MAC), this festive period and it has a very local connection.

    It stars Den Siegertsz from BBC Radio Stoke as Baron Hardup, Tim Churchill (Blood Brothers) and Paul Deakin as the ugly sisters with Catherine O'Reilly as the Fairy Godmother. Joining them is a cast of touring and west end actors playing the other characters.

    MAC Music: Freedom! '19 Wayne Dilks a tribute to George Michael

    January 12th, 7:30pm

    International tribute artiste Wayne Dilks and his band pay tribute to the late George Michael in this stunning show. The production has been touring the UK for the last 18 months receiving 5 star reviews nationwide. This heartfelt tribute show features many of the Superstars greatest hits, from his “Wham!” days of the 1980’s right up until his untimely death in 2016 and is performed in a sensitive and truly spectacular way.

  • MAC Live: The Tragedy of King Richard the Second

    January 15th, 7pm

    Simon Russell Beale plays William Shakespeare’s Richard II, broadcast live from the stage of the Almeida Theatre in London to cinemas.
    This visceral new production about the limits of power will be directed by Joe Hill-Gibbins, whose previous plays include Little Revolution at the Almeida and Absolute Hell at the National Theatre.

    Live Screening direct from the Royal Opera House

    In Tchaikovsky’s intense opera of obsession and the supernatural, Gherman is caught between the woman he loves and a destructive fixation. The Queen of Spades is based on a short story by Pushkin, and  comes to the Royal Opera House in a new production that has already garnered five-star reviews in Amsterdam.
