MOORPARK JUNIOR SCHOOL and BURNWOOD COMMUNITY SCHOOL - As part of our *You Are Here* heritage project, we conducted creative writing workshops in local schools, inviting students to explore the theme of home through personal narratives that reflect their unique experiences and connections to the community.

ST MARGARET WARD - They partner with us on our Youth Board and Work Experience Week, providing valuable insights and support to enhance opportunities for young people in the arts.

BELGRAVE ST BARTHOLOMEW ACADEMY - Schools visit us annually for educational trips, and in our last session, we had young people from Birmingham, Dubai, Ireland, America, Egypt, Palestine, and Turkey, showcasing the diverse backgrounds of our visiting groups.

CHRIST CHURCH ACADEMY and ST MARKS PRIMARY SCHOOL - Our school trips provide local students with accessible stage experiences, allowing them to engage directly with the performing arts and gain hands-on insights into the world of theatre. Our last year of themes has focused on children's story telling.

BLYTHE BRIDGE, ST PETERS, and DISCOVERY ACADEMY - Our Work Experience Programme, in partnership with BBC Bring the Drama, offers high school students in Stoke invaluable opportunities to explore the world of performing arts at no cost. This collaboration allows students to participate in immersive workshops and gain practical skills in various aspects of drama and production, enhancing their understanding of the creative process. By providing this free access, we aim to empower young people and foster a passion for the arts, while also equipping them with the tools they need to pursue future careers in the creative industry.

MAC School Tours

Our school tours offer primary schools across the city an exciting introduction to the world of theatre. Young students get the chance to learn foundational theatre skills through engaging activities designed to inspire creativity and build confidence. These tours provide an early look into acting, storytelling, and stage play, sparking an interest in the arts and setting the stage for future exploration and growth in performance arts.

MAC Work Experience

Our program partners with high schools across the city to offer an immersive experience where students come together to explore dance, drama, theatre games, and creative writing. Through interactive tasks and hands-on workshops, participants learn about the many departments that make theatre come alive, from set design to stage management. This collaborative approach ignites creativity, fosters teamwork, and provides a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to make the magic of theatre happen.

MAC Youth Board

Our youth board brings together passionate young individuals who share ideas and express their opinions on how we can continue meeting our priorities as a children's theatre. This dedicated group provides invaluable insights that help shape our programs, ensuring they remain engaging, relevant, and impactful. By giving a voice to the next generation, we stay connected to the needs and dreams of our young audience, fostering a theatre environment that reflects their creativity and vision.

The MAC Writing Prize

The MAC Prize for Writing is an exciting initiative linked to our work experience week and open to the wider public. This competition celebrates creative talent and invites participants to showcase their storytelling skills. Submissions are judged by a panel of professional writers, ensuring high standards and valuable feedback for entrants. The prize not only highlights emerging voices but also connects participants to the vibrant community of our theatre, inspiring a new generation of writers and performers.
