Celebrate 100 years of Stoke through the craft of embroidery at the Mitchell Arts Centre! Join us for Woolley Embroidery Workshops, where you’ll create beautiful pieces reflecting the city’s transformation. Using Smokey coloured thread on hessian, we’ll honour Stoke-on-Trent's industrial roots, while shades of green will represent its vibrant post-industrial future. Through the art of stitching, you’ll connect with the rich history and evolving identity of our city. Whether you’re an experienced embroiderer or a beginner, come celebrate Stoke on Trent's legacy and future with us, one stitch at a time!
Learn an easy but effective embroidery technique, using woollen thread and a blunt tapestry needle to build up a tactile, colourful surface pattern on a hessian background. Running stitch and cross stitch as you've never seen them before! It's also a surprisingly calming, restful thing to do - and you can chat at the same time.
Don’t miss this opportunity to express your artistic side while connecting with others in the community.
