Parking

There is a limited number of disabled parking spaces directly outside the building on Broad Street. There is also space to 'drop off' in front of the building if no spaces are available. Alternative parking can be found at Tesco situated behind the theatre, a screen is available in the main entrance foyer to input your registration plate to enable free parking for the duration of your visit.

Please note that the Tesco parking screen in the foyer is managed and run by Tesco not the MAC. We cannot be held accountable for any parking fines sent due to issues with this machine. If you have been sent a fine please contact Tesco direct explaining you were visiting the MAC.

Entrance Foyer,
Box Office and Cafe Bar

From the pavement through to the foyer, box office and cafe bar the ground is all flat making it accessible for wheelchairs, pushchairs and anyone with restricted mobility. The Cafe Bar tables and chairs can be moved around to make room for a wheelchair user/pushchair. Please ask at reception if you require assistance with this.

First Floor Toilets
There is a disabled toilet with baby changing facilities located on the first floor next to the main toilets.

Main Auditorium

The main auditorium has a gradual slope and no steps making it ideal for guests with access difficulties. Wheelchair spaces are located on rows A and BB at the front of the auditorium. Row A1-3 has a companion seat and space for 1 wheelchair. The companion seat can be removed to create space for a second wheelchair if needed. In this instance the companion would sit behind or adjacent to the wheelchairs. On the opposite side there is space for up to 2 wheelchairs on BB12-13, there is no option to put seats into this space so companions must sit behind or adjacent to the wheelchair(s). Wheelchairs are also admittable in the balcony which is accessible via a lift. Please talk to the Box Office about your requirements before booking seats in the balcony for a wheelchair user.

Dance Studio and Dressing Rooms

The dance studio is accessible from the Cartwright House entrance or the Stage Door. The dressing rooms are access-friendly with a ramp connecting them to the stage. This means any disabled patrons taking part in a show can get to and from the stage without concern.

Meeting Rooms

The meeting room is located on the first floor and is accessible by lift. There are no steps to encounter as a ramp connects the lift to the entrance of the meeting room. There is also a disabled toilet located on the first floor next to the balcony to the auditorium. The Board Room is located on the second floor, also accessible by lift.
